As with any of our items they can be crafted without a routed edge if preferred.

History:
Chippendale, Thomas (1718–1779), renowned English cabinetmaker. His designs were so extensively followed that a whole general category of 18th-century English furniture is commonly grouped under his name. Chippendale's Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director, an illustrated trade catalog first published in 1754, was widely influential in England and America.

This Chippendale Plaque is 3/4 inches thick by 8 inches by 10 inches and has a very attractive routed edge along the entire outside perimeter. Two mounting holes have also been provided in the backside of the plaque so it can be hung horizontally or vertically upon completion of the decorating process.

MDF is ideal for latex or oil painting, mosaic or ceramic art, decoupage and is an excellent foundation for veneers and laminates of all kinds. It will accept a broad range of sealers, primers, and coatings to produce a hard durable surface and is an excellent choice for a wide range of projects. This item, in addition to any of our other plaques, also makes a fantastic base for displaying countless hobby or art work projects on. The simplicity of design blends in well with any decor, adding charm and beauty to any room.
